Building a new pipebike #1. Concept
The process starts from the frame, the heart of the bike. Indeed, the serie will be mainly centered on its creation, and we’ll consider the complete assembly as the complementation of it. The last step.
A “pista” gemetry frame, with an oversize section downtube and chainstay. The big section on the downtube increases torsion stiffness important for transmiting all the power that we give when pulling hard the handlebar; sprinting for example. The robust chainstay aims to increase compresion stiffness to optimise the power transmision from the chainring to the cog/wheel. An square to support the downing tube on head-on crashes, and some ahestetic feature on seat post clamp and rear bridge.
The objective is, an agresive, nervous, strong and “light” bike with a geometry that allows a good control. The steel offers many interesting caracteristics for the urban use, but it doesn’t help to achieve the desidered lightness. Light weight components will be used to get the aimed overall low weight. It’s clearly a fixedgear bike inspired on XC, my background.
